DBL believes in equal opportunity, financial independence and a life of dignity for women. We are associated with Lila Poonawalla Foundation, for providing scholarships and mentoring to deserving but financially challenged girls for their higher education, transforming them into able women in their workplaces and communities. Through various NGOs, we are actively involved in women empowerment initiatives like skill training and entrepreneurship development programs. We assist women in starting their own business ventures by providing equipment and seed capital. Marketing and administration of such initiatives need guidance, which our able staff members are doing voluntarily.
DISHA is a renowned NGO involved in skill development through various programs. These programs include masala kandap, sewing courses with sewing machine provisions for underprivileged women, as well as courses in beautician, baking, mehndi and rangoli artistry. DISHA also provides a platform for grassroots organizations to sell their products with the objective of empowering women to achieve financial independence.
Shirdi Sai Baba Home for Aged Blind Women is a unique facility in India, offering innovative senior living for visually impaired women in the golden years of their lives. It was founded with the purpose of providing a life of dignity to visually impaired women who have no other shelter or place to call home.
The age group of women residing at the Shirdi Sai Baba Home ranges from a sprightly 60 years to over 90 years. These women have largely been disowned by their families due to their age and disability.
